Amarok 1.4.2 final for Mandriva 2006

Amarok 1.4.2 final is out and here are my RPMs for Mandriva 2006. To install them, I advise you to add my repository to your local urpmi database.

If you experience some problems with this package, take a look at comments on the 1.4.1 release and my “You installed Amarok from my RPMs and can’t play some files ? Here is the fix…” post.

  1. I’m having problems with this package (1.4.2). Last.fm simple don’t work for me, because Amarok freezes when i try to play any radio station.

Thanks and sorry for my english.

  2. Thanks for making Mandriva packages for this great program.
I installed the rpm and noticed that there are no MySQL options.

When making new packages could you enable MySQL?

  3. i will check it over the mendreva os….. then i will pass any comment … but i really impress by it’s graphics… very nice….

  4. Hi,
finally a stable package which runs fine. But I have troubles to activate a MySQL-Database. Is this version ready for MySQL or maybe a installation problem on my machine. If not, can you compile a MySQL version?

  5. Your packages conflict with those of MDE (mdns responder). Real pity coz you got ‘em upp quick :-)

  6. Yep, there is a conflict (the same that Simon mentioned).

  8. Hi, I’m still relatively new to Mandriva and I tried to update to 1.4.2 (I’m at 1.3). The computer refuses to install it. The RPM installation comes up, I sign in as root to let it install.

It says it’s going to remove 1.3 then install the following dependencies. It says “Package Installation”. Then after about aminute or two
    it gives me this error:

    Warning:
...retrieving failed: curl failed: exited with 7 or signal 0

    Can somebody help me out?

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Nevermind, I just had to update the urpmi’s and install all the extra xine things to get it to work.

  10. On the auto RPM install, states

    unsatisfied libifp.so.4

    how do I fix this?

    thanks

    current versions:

    • Mandriva 2006
    • KDE 3.4.2
    • amarok 1.3.1
  11. Does the new Amarok version have an advanced tag editor so that images can be embedded into the mp3?

1.3 could add images, which are only seen in the interface, but not seen if the mp3 file is uploaded to a portable MP3 player.

    i.e. my Archos 400

BTW I found another link at softpedia.com, will try install there.

    thanks
