During the first (cold) hours of 2010, I’ve done some light painting ( https://maomium.com/light-painting-part-one/ ) compositions with a friend. Discovering he was into this stuff and having my Canon 7D DSLR at hand, we decided to improvise a little session of long exposure shots. Here is a sample of photos we’ve took:

Long exposure against a yellow brick wall, a blurred figure swinging a light into a big looping ribbon of white

Long exposure against a red brick wall, a figure in red trailing overlapping white loops across the frame

  1. What did you use to draw such bright lines without overexposing the background?

@djib: nothing fancy: we just used a cheap cellphone, that's all ! To be honest I find the background too over-exposed compared to what I wanted in the first place: a total black background. By chance, the final result is not bad ! :)

      1. A cellphone is actually a very good idea. I have tried that with a torch and a lighter, but both didn't give very good results…
